Merops
quis
queries and processing instructions
Merops quis enables
Merops users to query authors or editors and to place
processing instructions for typesetters.

The
Tawny Owl has a nocturnal refrain
‘who, who’
Querying
Merops quis draws
from the other Merops modules to insert queries to confirm
that corrections over whose status there is some ambiguity are accurate.
What’s been
missed?
Merops quis can be
used in conjunction with Merops multicolor to
aid the editing process by focusing an editor’s attention on items that
should have been colour-coded but haven’t, suggesting an error in the text,
e.g. Gaint Panda is missed but Giant Panda matched.
Interactive
querying
Merops quis includes
a list of predefined queries (e.g. ‘Please check reference details’).
Custom queries can be created on demand.
Alerting
options
Merops quis can use
advanced text presentation features, like flashing text in
Word, to highlight queries and other items for the attention of editors or
authors.
Email
querying
Merops quis can be set
up to email queries to authors automatically, helping to cut lead times.
Processing
instructions
Instructions on figure and table size, orientation and
placement can be selected from predefined lists or customized as necessary.
