reference in a list. Here are some examples of what is identified and
corrected:
• false
paragraph breaks within entries
• miskeyed years containing
the letter ‘l’
• relocation of years
placed incorrectly within references
• inverted surnames,
initials or prefixes (e.g. Geert, A Van
⇒ Van Geert, A.)
• large author lists
truncated to, say, six authors plus et al.
• expansion of journal
titles (e.g. Br Med J ⇒ British Medical Journal)
• elision or explosion of
page ranges (e.g. 123-26 ⇒ 123–126)
• incorrectly ordered
elements (e.g. OUP, Oxford ⇒ Oxford:
OUP)
