Shabash Merops
Automatic XML markup
Reduces XML markup time.
Merops automatically identifies the components of a document based on their content and context, even if authors have not adhered to a particular style. Merops then generates highly customizable XML. This greatly simplifies the task of converting documents into XML.
High granularityMerops’s recognition and internal markup covers multiparagraph document sections (such as the header or end section), individual paragraphs (such as a document title or an abstract), right down to the individual word, or part of a reference. Because the level of markup can be so detailed, it’s easy to map the tags you need in your output XML. |
XML validationIn an XML-based workflow, it’s fundamental to downstream processes that the XML has been validated against a DTD or schema. This is more than simply a matter of converting a file into XML and then parsing it. Merops validates XML, providing in-situ comments where information is missing, or incorrect. |
NLM DTD complianceMerops can automatically generate XML that conforms to the NLM Journal Publishing DTD (versions 2.3 and 3.0) and NLM Archive and Interchange DTD (versions 2.3 and 3.0). |
DocBook DTD complianceNEW: Merops can export book chapters and other content to the DocBook DTD. |
Microsoft Word interfaceMerops XML output can be rendered in Microsoft Word, providing editors with a familiar and powerful environment to check the document’s structure, and copy-edit or make corrections if necessary. This is then saved as a final XML file. |
